Research and Development update – 21.01.2021

Project ID: 1.2.1.1/18/A/008. Stage 4 progress report.

The latest leg of the research has concluded this stage – A report on the mould manufacture and mortar seam incorporation methods.

Most recent focus has been on the technological process research description for mould development. During this stage research was focused on finding all possible alternatives for mould manufacture in terms of materiality and methodologies. The options were both reviewed in theory and tested in practice. The pros and cons of each option were noted. In conclusion, the most appropriate material for the production of brick imitation panel moulds are rubbers. Such rubber moulds can be produced from silicone, polyester, polyurethane. For the next stages of the research, polyurethane is the material of choice for further mould development and review.
